October 7th Memorial Torah Cover

  • October 7, 2023, will forever be etched in the hearts of the Jewish people, marking the largest massacre of Jews since the Holocaust. Our hearts remain broken, crying to heaven for the release of the remaining hostages, and the safety of our soldiers. Today, as we commemorate one year, we pledge, we will never forget.

To honor and memorialize the victims, Chabad Lincoln Park is purchasing a stunning white Torah Cover, displaying the words "Am Yisrael Chai" prominently on the front, Shema Yisrael, and a dedication to the lives lost on October 7th, those taken hostage and the IDF soldiers who have fallen in battle, embroidered on the front.

This Torah cover will be unveiled at the Yizkor memorial service during Yom Kippur services and will be used to dance with on Simchat Torah.

We invite you to make a dedication and be a part of this meaningful memorial project. Donations of any size are welcomed. Your participation helps us show the world that though our hearts are broken, our spirit remains unbroken. We live on for those we lost, performing mitzvot, dancing in their honor, and bringing more light, love and peace into the world and in this way we will honor their memories and elevate their holy souls.

As we mark one year, we stand resilient, united and emboldened to live "Am Yisrael Chai" - our nation lives, with pride and strength.

May we come together to inspire one another in prayer this Yom Kippur, and dance together this coming Simchat Torah.
